OUR MISSION | VISION | GOALS

Through these initiatives, the Foundation remains committed to fostering social inclusion, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. By implementing sustainable, community-driven solutions, the I.B. Taylor-Kamara Foundation honors the legacy of H.E. Taylor-Kamara while striving to create a more equitable and sustainable future for all.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to empower individuals and communities by providing education, skill-building opportunities, and resources that foster self-sufficiency.

Our Vision

Our Vision is a world where every person, regardless of location, has the resources and opportunities to thrive in a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable environment. We are committed to achieving these goals by 2030, in alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our Goals

The ultimate goal of the I.B. Taylor-Kamara Foundation is to create lasting, measurable social change by empowering individuals and communities globally. We aim to achieve this by:

  • Increasing access to quality education for underserved communities, with a target to improve educational opportunities for 8,000 students by 2028.
  • Building essential skills and promoting self-sufficiency through leadership and vocational training, aiming to empower at least 5,000 young leaders and women by 2028.
  • Promoting Civic Education, Leadership and Good Governance by fostering informed citizenship, ethical leadership, and inclusive decision-making processes through education, advocacy, and community engagement.
  • Tackling critical global challenges such as youth empowerment, gender equity, and climate action, through partnerships, initiatives, and advocacy.
  • Empowering youth: Providing leadership and skill-building programs to engage and uplift youth, aiming to empower 10,000 young leaders by 2028.
  • Advancing gender equity: Promoting gender equality through advocacy, mentorship, and support programs, with a goal of achieving greater gender parity in educational and leadership opportunities.

Our Framework

At the I.B. Taylor-Kamara Foundation, we implement programs and activities rooted in our core pillars: Education and Skills Development, Economic Empowerment and Resiliency, and Environmental Sustainability—collectively known as the "3 Es." This integrated framework enables us to address systemic challenges and create sustainable, transformative change that aligns with our mission and goals.

Education and Skills Development

We believe that education is the foundation of progress and empowerment. By improving access to quality education and equipping individuals with practical skills, we empower underserved communities to unlock opportunities and break cycles of poverty. Our programs in this area include:

  • Building Infrastructure: Partnering with local communities to construct and renovate schools and learning centers.
  • Scholarship Initiatives: Providing financial support to students from marginalized backgrounds to pursue their education.
  • Skill-Building Workshops: Offering training in technical, vocational, and digital skills to prepare individuals for the modern workforce.

These efforts aim to expand access to education by 30% and create pathways for lifelong learning by 2028.

Economic Empowerment and Resiliency

Economic independence is a critical step toward achieving long-term stability. Through targeted programs, we equip individuals and communities with the tools, resources, and knowledge to build sustainable livelihoods and adapt to changing circumstances. Our initiatives include:

  • Entrepreneurship Training: Supporting aspiring entrepreneurs with mentorship, business development workshops, and micro-grant funding.
  • Financial Literacy Programs: Teaching budgeting, saving, and financial planning to promote self-reliance.
  • Community-Based Resiliency Projects: Encouraging cooperative economic models and fostering local innovation to create sustainable sources of income.
Our goal is to empower 10,000 individuals, especially youth and women, to become economically resilient by 2028.

Environmental Sustainability

Environmental sustainability underpins our commitment to building a more equitable future. We recognize the importance of preserving natural resources and promoting eco-friendly practices to ensure communities thrive in harmony with their environment. Our environmental initiatives include:

  • Eco-Education Campaigns: Raising awareness about environmental challenges and sustainable practices in schools and communities.
  • Renewable Energy Projects: Promoting clean and renewable energy sources to reduce carbon footprints.
  • Reforestation and Conservation Efforts: Supporting tree-planting drives and habitat restoration projects to combat deforestation and climate change.

We contribute to global efforts to address climate change and ensure environmental equity by embedding sustainability in our programs.

A Holistic, Integrated Approach

The 3Es are interconnected, forming a comprehensive approach that ensures our work has a lasting, multifaceted impact. We create a strong foundation for communities to grow, thrive, and adapt to future challenges by addressing education, economic empowerment, and environmental sustainability. Through these pillars, the I.B. Taylor-Kamara Foundation honors its mission to foster sustainable social change and build a brighter future for all.
