At the I.B. Taylor-Kamara Foundation (IBTK Foundation), youth empowerment is a cornerstone of our mission to foster sustainable development and transformative change. We recognize youth as invaluable resources and innovators, particularly in the Global South, where their resilience, creativity, and vision hold immense potential to drive progress.
Through our Young Emerging Leaders Program, we identify and nurture exceptional youth leaders, equipping them with mentorship, capacity-building training, and the resources necessary to excel as agents of change. Participants such as Alimatu Jalloh and Cheik Oumar Diallo exemplify how our tailored programs prepare young individuals to address complex social, economic, and environmental challenges with innovative, actionable solutions.
The Foundation also amplifies youth voices globally through the Civil Society Youth Advisory Committee (CSYAC). This dynamic platform brings together young leaders to advise on strategic initiatives, co-create impactful programs, and ensure youth perspectives shape global and local decision-making processes. CSYAC fosters collaboration and provides a vital space for youth to influence policies and programs that tackle the most pressing issues of our time.
Our interventions are designed to unlock the full potential of young people, particularly those in the Global South, enabling them to become drivers of change at every level—local, national, and international. By harnessing their innovative spirit and unique insights, we aim to transform them into effective leaders who can craft sustainable solutions, bridge gaps in their communities, and lead the charge in achieving global goals.
The IBTK Foundation is dedicated to building a future where youth are empowered to lead with confidence and competence. Together, we can ensure that young people are at the forefront of creating a more equitable, innovative, and sustainable world.
