About IBTK Foundation

The I.B. Taylor-Kamara Foundation, established in 2005 by the children of the late H.E. Ishmael Byne Taylor-Kamara, is a New York-based non-profit organization dedicated to creating a lasting impact. Inspired by the legacy of H.E. Taylor-Kamara, a British-trained lawyer, civil servant, and diplomat who held distinguished positions such as Senior Minister in Sierra Leone’s first cabinet, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, President of the UN Security Council (1971), and High Commissioner to Canada, the Foundation continues his commitment to service and transformative change.

Guided by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Foundation focuses on three core pillars to achieve measurable outcomes by 2030:

  • Education and Skills Development
  • Economic Empowerment and Resiliency
  • Environmental Sustainability

Through these initiatives, the Foundation remains committed to fostering social inclusion, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. By implementing sustainable, community-driven solutions, the I.B. Taylor-Kamara Foundation honors the legacy of H.E. Taylor-Kamara while striving to create a more equitable and sustainable future for all.
